Okay, I tell you the story

I think that it's time to tell you story about me. :)

On Thursday we had a very special class, Personal and Strategy development. The name nothing special, but it was amazing. Each of us had to say interesting story about yourself. I am so surprise, enthusiastic and impressed how amazing classmates I have. So many stories, incredible experiences. I am so proud of me that I decided to changed my lifestyle and move out from my native country. I am very grateful for this experience and opportunity. It was a huge step and I hope (and I know) that was a great step. :)

So this is my story...



My name is Michaela, I am 22 years old. I came from small town in Moravia region in Czech Republic. Before I came in Denmark I studied Architecture and civil engineering in Czech Technical University in Prague. But it wasn't exactly for me. It was so technical and so demotivated as well. I really don't like the way how they teach at czech universities, especially at architecture schools. Some say that studying what you love is vital and I completely support that point of view because what matters is the journey, not the final destination. So I decided to studied here, especially Retail Design and Management - Fashion and Furniture. In czech republic I used to way of studying using books, presentations and endless learning by heart. But HERE are more practical experiences, lots of projects and communication with teachers (very friendly teachers) instead learning by heart theoretical knowledge that can not be implemented in real life situations. :/

After my studies I worked for ZARA (which is spanish fashion clothes chain) like a merchandiser. During this time I realised I would be interested in designing the stores. I really liked it, I worked with fashion and I learned so much from this company but I wanted to continue in studies.

My main life joys are freedom, adventure and people’s smiles. I enjoy following the saying “live each day as if it was the last one.“ My hobbies are painting, architecture, design, art and accumulation of sentimental things. I also like getting together with my friends, reading books about success, trips, making and creating things and traveling.
The reason I chose retail design was my desire to touch someone else’s soul by the art I create. People have different life goals. For instance, someone wants to establish a successful company, while the other ones focus on taking care of their family. But all of us want to leave something behind. I want to make the world a better place with my art which will have an impact on someone else’s life and build happiness. Each person’s home is a stepping stone for his or her family well-being and I want to be a part of creating that magic for them. I love the idea of doing good for other people and retail design is a perfect field for fulfilling that.

I really motivated by my vision and goals so I wanted to be a interior designer and some day I want to have my own design studio. I know that it is the right for me, because is a connection of art, design, architecture and fashion so things which I love.

Now it is the best time to make my dreams come true.
